WHAT DO I RECEIVE WITH MY HOUSE DESIGN PURCHASE?

You will receive an electronic copy (PDF) of your house design. This electronic set will include all appropriate construction drawings described here. If you choose to have CAD (computer aided drawings) included, for an additional $500, you will receive that file along with the Construction Document PDF. You will be able to print a full-size set (22”H x 34”W) at your local print shop for your chosen contractor. Note: you can print your set at half-size scale using 11” x 17” paper size. Also, make sure your local print shop can print large size prints.

how long will it take to receive my drawings?

Once the payment has been approved, you will receive an electronic copy (PDF) of your house design within one to two business days after purchase.

what other professionals do i need to build my dream home?

You will need a Building Contractor, Land Surveyor, and Structural Engineer. Other professionals that we highly recommend, but not required, would be an Interior Designer and Landscape Architect. We recommend adding these two professional services because they will help with all the additional micro level detailing for your house inside and out.

DO YOUR HOUSE DESIGNS COME WITH A BASEMENT OPTION?

Each house design we sell can be placed on a variety of different foundations, including a basement. We do not supply foundation information in each of our designs because depending on your location and soil type, it will dictate your foundation system. Consult with your Building Contractor and Structural Engineer for additional information regarding what system is appropriate for your area.

can i modify a design to fit my specific needs?

We want to make sure our house designs are a perfect fit, though we want to make sure the design intent of the house remains as close to the original as possible. For questions regarding plan modification, please email info@ourhausstudio.com. Someone from our office will get back to you about our customization parameters and fee.

how many times can i print each construction set?

You are free to print as many copies as necessary for your Building Contractor, Structural Engineer, and other recommenced professionals. Since a full size set measures at 22”H x 34”W, you will need to make sure your local printing company can print large format prints.

once purchased, can i build a house more than once?

Unfortunately, we only allow one home to be built per purchase. If you are a developer, please contact us at info@ourhausstudio.com for more information.

how much will it cost to build my dream home?

Unfortunately, we cannot supply you with cost per square foot data for each house design. Construction costs can vary widely depending on where you live. We recommend reaching out to a local Building Contractor for local construction cost averages.
